Mats Hummels, who is still without a club, could now continue his career in Serie A.

After turning down offers from there in the past, he has now agreed to a move to AS Roma, according to “Corriere dello Sport”. The 35-year-old veteran is said to be on his way to the Italian capital and will soon undergo the necessary medical check and then sign a contract. Since Hummels is currently without a contract, he can also sign a contract outside of the transfer window, which actually closed last Friday.

The long-time Dortmund player will receive an annual salary of €2.5 million from the Giallorossi. The amount can increase through bonuses. The contract initially runs for one season, but would be extended for another season if a certain number of games are played.

AS Roma has strengthened its defence once again. In addition to Hummels, Mario Hermoso (29) is also making his way to the club with head coach Daniele De Rossi. The Spaniard was also recently without a club.
