Crime scene on September 1st – “Tyrannicide”

Falke and Grosz are given an extremely delicate and discreet mission: 17-year-old Juan Mendez (Riccardo Campione) has disappeared without a trace from an elite boarding school where the children of influential figures from business and politics are educated. Juan’s father is the ambassador of an authoritarian state whose president is about to make an official state visit to Germany. This controversial head of state is notorious for arbitrarily imprisoning and torturing critics and journalists. While Juan’s girlfriend Hanna (Valerie Stoll) fears the worst, his best friend August (Anselm Ferdinand Bresgott) believes that Juan only wanted to escape the ceremonial ceremonies of the state visit.

Crime scene on September 8th – “Revenge on the World”

The tranquil town of Göttingen is shaken by a series of sexual assaults. A perpetrator lies in wait for women in remote locations and forces them to perform sexual acts. The press has nicknamed the unknown man the “Viking” because he has so far left all of his victims alive. But when the body of student Mira is found in a small park by the lake, Charlotte Lindholm and Anaïs Schmitz wonder whether the “Viking” used deadly violence this time. An eyewitness describes the perpetrator as a man with a migrant background, but his credibility is questioned because he seems biased. In order not to waste any time, Charlotte Lindholm arranges for an extended origin analysis of the DNA found at the crime scene.

Crime scene on September 15 – “Your mother”

A dispute between gangster rappers escalates: What initially began as a musical feud with clear threats ends tragically when one of the opponents is found dead in front of the other’s studio. In their 34th case together, Harald Krassnitzer and Adele Neuhauser must find out what is hidden behind the facade of publicity, hatred and staging in the Vienna “Tatort”. In doing so, they not only discover the dark side of the hip-hop scene, but also their own fascination with rap. Directed by the multiple award-winning Mirjam Unger, who captures the Viennese hip-hop scene at original locations in her “Tatort” debut, an authentic picture of this world is drawn. Also on board are the rappers Aleksandar Simonovski alias “Yugo” and Kiara Hollatko alias KeKe, who ensure a real scene atmosphere.

Guest roles are played by former “Tatort” detective Edita Malovcic as the victim’s mother and “Steirerkrimi” investigator Hary Prinz as a shrewd underworld boss. Viennese rapper “Ted Candy” (Aleksandar Simonovski alias “Yugo”) is on the verge of a breakthrough: he is attractive, talented and knows how to do business. In order to move to a larger label, he splits up with his mentor Akman Onur (Murat Seven). But after a concert, Ted dies under the influence of drugs and with adrenaline in his blood. Moritz Eisner (Harald Krassnitzer) and Bibi Fellner (Adele Neuhauser) quickly have a prime suspect, but Akman denies everything: the social media feud was merely a staged spectacle to boost the number of followers and promote both careers. So what really went on between the two? An aggressive rap text by Ted about Akman 47 eventually leads Bibi to his backer Igor Slavin (Hary Prinz), an old acquaintance from her time at vice squad. Although Igor has now legalized his dirty business, Bibi is determined to put him behind bars in connection with the murder case.

Crime scene on September 29 – “It’s so green when Frankfurt’s mountains bloom”

Tristan Grünfels, a psychologist and victim counselor with the Frankfurt police, is in serious trouble. He is increasingly losing his focus, talking to himself and increasingly losing contact with his already shattered family. One morning, as he is leaving his chaotic home for his practice, the situation escalates: in a moment of being overwhelmed, he kills a police officer. As bad luck would have it, a misunderstanding leads him to be appointed victim counselor for the bereaved and he is forced to accompany Janneke and Brix in the investigation into the murder case. While his inner voice urges him to turn himself in to the police, his life continues to get worse: his wife is having an affair, his daughter is unintentionally pregnant and his son is neglecting school and smoking weed instead. The situation escalates and ends in a dramatic confrontation in which the entanglements between Grünfels, Brix and Janneke erupt in an explosive finale.

These are the broadcast dates for the first broadcasts and repeats of Tatort in June. Further additions will follow. You can find out more about the detectives on the investigative teams here.
