Swiss Silver Bullet reaches for next gold

The Swiss wheelchair racer Marcel Hugsix-time Paralympic champion and multiple world record holder, wants to defend his title in the men’s 5000 m T54. Also competing is Canadian Brent Lakatos, who wants to improve on his silver medal from Tokyo 2020 in an exciting final.

Léon Schäfer aims for long jump medal

At the Para Athletics World Championships in May, he jumped 7.22 m to win the World Championship title. His toughest competitor is the Dutchman Joel de Jongwho has already flown 7.67 m this season.

With gold, Schäfer would emulate his role model Markus Rehm, who once motivated him to try his hand at para-athlete.

The decision will be made at 8:34 p.m. in the long jump final of class T63.

Table tennis doubles play for gold

Baus has already secured victory at the Paralympics, winning individual gold at Tokyo 2020. Schmidberger won silver in the individual and team events back then. This time he wants to climb to the highest level of Olympus.

Final opponents in the MD8 class are the Chinese Ningning Cao and Pangfeng Feng.
