This Wednesday, the Frenchman Ryan Zézé was disqualified in the 200 meter heats, due to a false start, at the world championships.

Ryan Zeze went through all the emotions. This Wednesday, the French was engaged in the series of 200 meters, during the world athletics championships, which are currently taking place near Budapest in Hungary. Engaged in the seventh and final series, the Habs left from lane No. 2. Visibly in a hurry to fight it out, Zézé was guilty of a false start during the first start procedure. At this level, the rules have changed. Indeed, after protesting, the Frenchman was allowed to return to the track, in doubt, to run, subject to reservation. Despite everything, his case was indeed to be reconsidered afterwards. And his presence in the race therefore did not mean that he could continue the adventure, in these Worlds, on this 200 meters. And, until the end, the Habs clearly did not make it easy for the judges. Indeed, during the second start, the race was able to go to the end this time. And the French bravely played his luck.

No favorite released in series

To the point of finishing in third place, to virtually offer a direct ticket to the semi-finals of the specialty, despite a lack of time. But not enough to change things. It only took a few minutes for Zézé’s disqualification to be confirmed by a decision rendered by the jury. In these same series of 200 meters, no favorite for the final victory was surprised. The American Noah Lyles, the Batswana Letsile Tebogo, the American Erriyon Knighton and the Briton Zharnel Hughes, author of the best time of these series and the only athlete to have passed under the bar of 20 seconds (19”99), will all be to the semi-finals. Among the ladies, all the favorites are also passed. Namely Shericka Jackson, Gabby Thomas, Sha’Carri Richardson, world champion in the 100 meters, and Marie-Josée Ta Lou.
