Léo Barré extends with Stade Français

Stade Français full-back Léo Barré has extended his contract with the Parisian club until 2029.

Stade Français full-back Léo Barré, who has made 4 appearances for the French XV, has extended his contract until 2029, the Parisian club announced on Wednesday. “Having arrived at Stade Français Paris in 2019 at the age of 17, our full-back is continuing his adventure in the capital until 2029”the club specifies on its website.

The 22-year-old is coming off a fine season during which he earned his first caps with the French XV during the Six Nations Tournament where he started against Wales (45-24) and England (33-31). He was also called up for the tour of Argentina in July.

“I am very happy to continue with my favorite club in this sporting and human project. Now, the objective is to maintain the ambition that we put into our daily lives and to position the club at the top of French rugby.”reacted the young full-back.

Stade Français, second in the regular season in 2023-24, failed in the semi-finals of the final phase against UBB (22-20), a defeat which highlighted the lack of creativity in the Parisian attacking game.3

“This is a strong sign for our projects and for the future“, commented the club’s rugby director, Laurent Labit. “The best recruitment for a club is first of all to keep its best players. He is a young player who represents the club’s DNA and we are happy that he is continuing in his favorite club.” Stade Français will start its Top 14 season on Saturday where it ended the previous one: in Bordeaux against UBB.
