Canadian Hugo Houle extends with Israel – Premier Tech until 2026

The 33-year-old rider has signed on for two more seasons with the Israeli team.

Having joined the ranks of the Israël – Premier Tech team in 2022, Hugo Houle has extended his contract by two years. He is now tied to his team until 2026. At 33, the Canadian won a stage of the 2022 Tour de France – between Carcassonne and Foix – under the colours of the Israeli team. The most prestigious success of his long career [il est sur le circuit professionnel depuis 12 ans, NDLR].

«I feel comfortable in the team, it’s like a family, and I’m also very happy with the progression we’ve made within the team over the last two years. I’ve had the best results of my career so far with this team and I think we’ve accomplished a lot. I’m looking forward to the next two years, especially since they will take me to the World Championships in Montreal in 2026 and that’s a big goal for me,” explained the runner.

A happy rider who is not the only one to rejoice at this extension. This is also the case for his general manager Kjell Carlström: “Whether as a teammate or fighting for his own result, Hugo is incredibly reliable and always gives absolutely everything. We all remember his stage win at the Tour de France, an emotional and well-deserved moment in his career, but on top of that he has had consistent results such as a third place at the Maryland Cycling Classic last year, and strong overall results in stage races. Hugo brings a wealth of experience to the team and we look forward to seeing what he can do over the next two years.”
