Iranian giant Morteza Mehrzad forced to sleep on the floor due to lack of bed

IHe is forced to sleep on the floor. Iranian para-athlete Morteza Mehrzad, who plays sitting volleyball, faces a major problem in his room in the Olympic Village. The 2.46m player, who is considered the second tallest living man in the world, does not have a suitable bed, forcing him to spend his nights on the floor. “In Tokyo 2020, they had a special bed, but unfortunately, here, that is not the case,” said the team’s head coach Hadi Rezaeigarkani, explaining that the two-time Paralympic champion has to lie on the floor.

“He doesn’t have a special bed, but he has the most important goal in mind. He doesn’t care about lying on the floor or not eating enough. Either way, he intends to become a champion,” his coach nevertheless reassured the Olympics.com website.
