Levi Garcia to replace Openda?
Last season, RC Lens was able to have a very good season thanks in particular to their striker Loïs Openda. Author of 21 matches in Ligue 1, the Belgian striker impressed Europe and succumbed to the charm of RB Leipzig, despite qualifying for the Champions League with his former team. As a result, the Lensois leaders will have to quickly find a replacement for him, and would have turned to Levi Garcia, currently in the colors of AEK Athens.
According to information from RMC Sports published this Sunday, the Nordic club would have checked, at the very top of the list, the name of Levi Garcia. It must be said that the Trinidadian international had a good year last season with 18 goals scored in 37 games in all competitions. At 25, the player would not be insensitive to Lensois charms, and could then decide to leave Greece for France.
No offer at the moment
But, for the moment, no offer is found on the table. Lens remains very interested, but would prefer to study several avenues before making a final choice. The Lensois have a nice envelope after selling Openda for 40 million in Leipzig. Levi Garcia, for his part, would be estimated at around 7 million euros, a sum quite accessible for the French club.
The next few days should tell us more about this track. Franck Haise would like to have his full squad as soon as possible to prepare for next season as well as possible. Case to follow.
