Rugby/Supersevens. Section Paloise: three players, including a leader, replaced for the last stage in Pau

Almost certain to finish in the 8 qualified for the grand final at the Arena on February 1st, the Green and Whites have recorded a few changes in their group of sevens. The most important concerns Clément Mondinat. Conquering leader on the first two stages in Mont-de-Marsan then La Rochelle, the 20-year-old fly-half joins the XV team for the last preparation match in… La Rochelle.

He will be replaced by Grégoire Arfeuil, European champion with France 7 Développement this summer, who is doing the opposite. Third row Mehdi Tlili and former member of the Béarnais training center Mathieu Piperol, now a for Fleurance (National 2), are also leaving the group. They are replaced by scrum-half Thomas Souverbie, who came on in the first XV preparation match last Friday against UBB and a former member of the team, Romain Fonnicola, now a winger for Montauban, in Pro D2.

The association is still well represented

For the rest, nothing is changing. Josselin Bouhier and Grégoire Arfeuil will be considered veterans at the age of 21 and 19. Will Maddocks (30), brother of Jack and former Australian international 7s, will be another guide, with Alexis Berot, European champion in the company of Arfeuil and Bouhier. Clément Tisnerat (25), former CDF player, will help to supervise a group that is once again very young.

If Thomas Souverbie (20 years old) is a regular in the professional group, this is less the case for winger Toshi Butlin or pillar Macarius Pereira, Australian hopefuls of the Béarnaise formation, or even Gabriel Elissalde and Quentin Valentino, scrum-half and centre who arrived from Biarritz and Nice this summer.

Alongside them, winger Jean-Baptiste Périssé, fly-half Hugo Baraqué and centre Romain Lauga will represent the Section Paloise association at the Hameau this Saturday.

The Pau group

Thomas Souverbie (1), Gabriel Elissalde (9), Will Maddocks (10), Clément Tisnerat (12), Jean-Baptiste Périssé (16), Toshi Butlin (19), Hugo Barraqué (22), Macarius Pereira (24), Alexis Berot (30), Josselin Bouhier (31), Grégoire Arfeuil (59), Romain Lauga (64), Quentin Valentino (82), Romain Fonnicola (95)
