As part of the preparations for the next Olympic Youth Olympic Games (Joj), the Organizing Committee organized an innovative seminar dedicated to “sport presentation”, bringing together young talents, development actors, sports journalists, figures cultural, and even DJs. The objective? Highlight the opportunities for work and commitment to youth in this global event.
This initiative aims to integrate youth into the dynamics of the Olympics, not only as spectators, but also as participants active behind the scenes of the event. The concept of sport presentation, key in the sports experience, includes the animation of competitions, music, live narration, and the creation of a captivating atmosphere for the public and the athletes.
In order to better explain the concept, French experts have shared their experiences from the 2024 Olympic Games, hoping that Dakar 2026 will do better. Leslie Dufaux, in charge of sport presentation Paris 2024 and Arthur Bouedo Cluster Manager Sports presentation and associated manager-producer on different sports disciplines have dissected the tasks to be made in the 14-day competition program.
During this meeting, the participants explored the various professions linked to this universe, including stadium animation, sound system, creation of audiovisual content, and the management of sporting events. The cultural actors and DJs present were also made aware of the importance of their role in the valuation of cultural identity through animations and music.
For the organizing committee, this seminar is a key step in the preparation of the Olympics. “It is a very important department for competitions. There are many trades that revolve around and require innovation, culture, to have a creative genius. It was difficult to contain all these beautiful people in the room. Because when we opened the platform for registration for this seminar, we had 680 people who registered on our platform. It is to show that there is a real need for these professions. It was time for us to show them what the sport presentation and in which area they can intervene ”, said Balla Dieye, the sports director who says he is satisfied with the craze noted for this seminar.
-With this seminar, the Olympics 2026 position themselves as a vector of emancipation for youth, opening doors to exciting professions and valuing the cultural richness of Senegal on the international scene. An initiative which, no doubt, will leave a lasting imprint far beyond competitions.
