The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has delivered its verdict in the case involving the Equatoguinean Football Federation (“FEGUIFUT”) and the Congolese Football Federation (“FECOFOOT”), following the complaint filed by Equatorial Guinea concerning the home and away matches of qualifying for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The matches took place as follows: December 21 (match no. 1: Equatorial Guinea – Congo) and December 29 (match no. 2: Congo – Equatorial Guinea).
The CAF Disciplinary Jury found that the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT) had fielded an ineligible player (Mr. Mankou Nguembete Japhet Eloi) during the two matches.
The CAF Disciplinary Jury made the following decisions:
--Matches No. 1 Equatorial Guinea vs Congo and No. 2 Congo vs Equatorial Guinea of qualifying for the 2024 African Nations Championship were declared forfeits in favor of Equatorial Guinea, with a score of 3-0.
-The Congolese Football Federation was also fined 10,000 USD (6,308,857 million CFA francs.)
