Club Brugge is looking for a successor to compensate for the departure of Andreas Skov Olsen. For a while, Pyramids FC player Ibrahim Adel was mentioned as an option. Although interest appears to have cooled, Adel remains an interesting target for the Blauw-Zwart.
The 23-year-old Egyptian international, who shone as a playmaker and dribbler during the U23 Africa Cup, could strengthen the right flank. Despite failed attempts by Getafe and other European clubs to sign him, Adel continues to attract interest.
THE REPLACEMENT
With the transfer of Andreas Skov Olsen to VfL Wolfsburg, Club Brugge should normally look to replace him. Currently, Nicky Hayen can only count on Chemsdine Talbi and Michal Skoras on the right flank, a situation which leaves this axis particularly fragile. According to Het Laatste Nieuws and Het Nieuwsblad, Club Bruges therefore plans to add a reinforcement this winter, and Ibrahim Adel (23 years old, Pyramids FC) is among the potential candidates.
-MISSED TRANSFERS
Ibrahim Adel has 14 caps for the Egyptian national team and is a true star in his native country. Each transfer window, Adel is linked to a transfer to Europe. Last summer, his move to Getafe narrowly fell through after Pyramids FC ended negotiations with the Spanish club.
At the end of August, however, Adel went to Spain to undergo a medical examination with Getafe in Madrid and put pressure on Pyramids to accept the offer. But the Egyptians deemed Getafe’s offer ($500,000 loan with a purchase option of $2.5 million) insufficient, scuppering its transfer to La Liga at the last minute.
