“Maybe they were scared”: Radja Nainggolan reveals he was close to a return to JPL – Tout le football

The former Red Devil joined Lokeren-Temse this week. The Jupiler Pro League was also an option for him, as he confided.

Not abroad nor in the Jupiler Pro League, ultimately it will be the Challenger Pro League which will see Radja Nainggolan make his comeback. Lokeren-Temse has, in fact, succeeded in convincing the former Red Devil.

The transfer surprised many, but club president Hans Van Duysen is clear about the reckless spending: “I try to run the club with the heart, but also as a healthy business,” he said. -he assured Het Laatste Nieuws.

“If you start the season with a certain core and you see that you have to make adjustments, there is always a reserve budget. This reserve has already been taken into account and we are perhaps slightly above, but we are not doing crazy things. Radja did not come to Lokeren for the money, because the money is not here,” continues the president.

“Coming full circle” where it all began

After a verbal agreement, everything was put on paper 24 hours later. Nainggolan even handled the deal without using any intermediary or agent. However, our compatriot regrets that the Beerschot was not concrete.

“I had spoken to the new president of the club but I don’t know why it didn’t happen. Maybe they were afraid to bring in a ‘name’. Beerschot would still have been a great experience, to end my career at JPL I would have come full circle to where it all began.”
