A Belgian coach to come and push Manchester United a little further? “We must make history” – All football

Ruben Amorim is under pressure at Manchester United. Philippe Clement intends to play a bad trick on the Red Devils.

Tonight’s match between Manchester United and Glasgow Rangers will be a duel between two heckled coaches. At a press conference, Reuben Amorim has also shown a lot of empathy towards Philippe Clement’s situation.

The Belgian coach was more down to earth when discussing the difficulties encountered by the Red Devils (one victory in the last eight matches). “I’m not at all concerned about the opposing team. Whether they have confidence or not doesn’t matter to me,” he said at a press conference.

The match at Old Trafford will however be crucial to avoid having to go through the play-offs. The two teams are respectively seventh and eighth, with a small point lead for the Mancunians.

Like against Celtic?

More Philippe Clement will have to deal with several absences. No less than eight players who could compete for a starting place will not be on the match sheet. “We will have to ignore it. It will only be about what we do on the pitch, with and without the ball. We have to show that the team is in better shape, to make history here.”

For this, the former Club Brugge player wants to rely on one of the benchmark matches of the season: “A few weeks ago, before the Old Firm (3-0 victory against Celtic), no one gave us a chance and the team proved what they can do in big moments. It’s about focusing on ourselves.”
