FIFA intends to withdraw this in Morocco!

Algeria The International Football Federation (FIFA) will make a decision that will shake up Morocco regarding the 2030 World Cup.

FIFA is considering a reduction in the number of stadiums selected for the 2030 World Cup, scheduled for Morocco, Spain and Portugal. Initially, 21 stadiums spread across 20 cities were proposed, but this number could be reduced to streamline the organization.

According to SER ChainFIFA considers that the current number is excessive for a competition of this scale. As a result, two or three stadiums could be excluded, notably in Spain and Morocco. Infobae specifies that the Fez stadium, in Morocco, as well as the Riazor stadiums in La Coruña and Anoeta in San Sebastian, Spain, would be the main ones affected.

However, no final decision has yet been made. This reflection illustrates the pressures that FIFA faces to ensure optimal organization of this historic edition, which will take place in three countries and on two continents.

The possible reduction of stadiums could cause tensions, particularly in candidate cities which have invested heavily in their infrastructure to meet FIFA’s requirements. These investments, often supported by public funds, aimed not only to host the competition, but also to promote economic development and strengthen tourist attractiveness.

If FIFA confirms these exclusions, the impact would be significant for the cities concerned. In addition to the loss of a global showcase, the latter could see their economic benefits reduced. Discussions around this reduction highlight the challenges of a multi-country organization, where local, national and international interests must coexist harmoniously.
