Alpine skiing – World Cup. Kitzbühel: two descenders injured and airlifted during training!

The second training session on the Kitzbühel Streif caused damage this Wednesday! The Austrian Felix Hacker and the German Jacob Schramm were affected. An opener also fell.

Be careful, the Kitzbühel Streif is still just as dangerous. This Wednesday, during the second workout in preparation for the most anticipated descent of the season on Saturday, two athletes ended their day by helicopter and then to the hospital!

First it was the Austrian Felix Hacker (bib 35), leader of the European Cup, who fell in the Steilhang, the large slope at the top of the route. His knee appeared to have given way before he finished in the net. He was airlifted and evacuated to hospital.

Jacob Schramm also evacuated by helicopter

At the end of the session, and towards the bottom of the track, the German Jacob Schramm fell at full speed on a compression. He also finished his run in the net. And he too was taken care of by rescuers and evacuated by helicopter. The end of the training was interrupted for several minutes before it could be completed.
