Moroccans Aziza Chakir (less than 48kg) and Soumiya Iraoui (-52kg) won silver in their category respectively. The two sportswomen have a very good track record. At 26, Aziza Chakir has several medals to her credit, including silver at the 2018, 2020 and 2023 African Judo Championships. As for Soumiya Iraoui, she notably won gold at the 2018 African Judo Championships. , 2023 and 2024 or even the 2023 Pan-Arab Games.
During the last day of the African Judo Championship, Morocco ranked in fourth place with 11 medals including a gold won by Ahmed Alaoui Cherifi in -60 kg. In addition to this precious metal, the kingdom won 6 silver and 4 bronze medals.
