Lane Hutson is the type to self-flagellate

Lane Hutson is not one to easily move on from his poor performances.

The Montreal Canadiens defender still has his Saturday night in his throat. In a 7-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the first-year player concluded his clash with a very poor differential of -5.

“For me, it’s difficult to forget these kinds of matches. I will never forget this poor performance,” said Hutson on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old American, however, feels very fortunate to be so well supported.

“I feel like I have the support of my teammates. There is always another match to play. The coaches and the guys told me not to worry about it.”

We can understand the other CH players wanting the youngster to continue to play with confidence, considering that he has been the spark plug of the team for a while now.

Moreover, Hutson is currently in the heart of an eight-game series where he has at least one point. The guard hit the target once and provided 11 assists during this happy streak. He has now amassed 38 points in 46 games in 2024-25.
