Transfers: Achraf Hakimi in the top 10 most expensive African players in history

On the occasion of the transfer of Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt to Manchester City for 80 million euros, during this winter transfer window, a top 10 was drawn up of the most expensive African players in the history on the transfer market.

The now Skyblues player is at the top of the ranking of African players having been valued midfielders on the transfer market, alongside the Ivorian Nicolas Pépé, the two footballers were transferred for 80 million euros.

The podium in this ranking is completed by the Nigerian Victor Osimhen (70 million euros). Followed by the Algerian Riyad Mahrez (70 million) and the Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (63.8 million).

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi is in 6th place, which he shares with Guinean Naby Keita (60 million). The Atlas Lion joined Saint-Germain in 2021 from Inter Milan with whom he won the scudetto after 11 years of drought.

At the club in the capital of , Achraf Hakimi did not take much time to find a place in the sun and became a centerpiece of the Parisian squad.

Recently, he extended his contract until 2029. And it is certain that if this were not the case, the 26-year-old Moroccan player, also coveted by European behemoths (Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid), would have heated up the transfer window.
