In brief:
  • Young Joseph Nonge soon at Servette FC? His agent talks about it.
  • The Garnets and the player are on the same page. We are talking about a loan with an option to purchase.
  • Details still need to be sorted out with Juventus, the club which has the Belgian under contract until 2026.

Servette is about to make its first transfer of the winter transfer window. We have known for several days that advanced contacts exist between Joseph Nonge and the Garnets. Will the young 19-year-old Belgian, a promising defensive midfielder, soon settle down in Geneva? It’s very likely.

In fact, there are several parties to agree on. As far as the will of the player and that of Servette FC are concerned, this does not seem to pose a problem. Afterwards, there are the clubs: Estac, otherwise , where Nonge is currently, on loan until June. And Juventus, who owns the player and where his lease runs until the summer of 2026.

At Estac, Joseph Nonge hardly plays. For non-sporting reasons, we would prefer other players. Authorizing his departure this winter should be possible. That leaves Juventus, with whom the agreement must be finalized. We are talking about a loan with an option to purchase.

Nonge’s agent, Grace Diamouangana, talks about it. “I can’t say anything at the moment,” he explains. Nothing has been signed yet, so you have to be careful. But we can say that there is a good chance that Joseph will come to Servette, as part of a loan with an option to buy. We are in discussions, in particular with Juventus, to resolve certain points. With Servette, I would not yet speak of an agreement in principle, but we are on the same wavelength. That said, let’s wait for all this to be confirmed, you never know.”

The matter appears to be on track. The promising No 6 trained in Anderlecht would find there the opportunity to have playing time, by compensating for the absence of Douline (injured) and by giving an alternative solution to Häberli concerning Ondoua, very far from providing what was hoped for.
