Novak Djokovic eliminates Carlos Alcaraz in quarter-final clash – rts.ch

Indestructible Novak Djokovic! Despite discomfort in the left adductor, the Serbian eliminated Carlos Alcaraz in Melbourne to obtain the right to play a… 50th Grand Slam semi-final. Novak Djokovic won 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 after 3h37′ of the match.

At the end of the first set, no spectator at the Rod Laver Arena would have bet a single dollar on the Serb’s chances of victory. He was, in fact, injured on the first point of the ninth game at 4-4 before, after a medical timeout, losing this initial round on one leg.

At 37, Novak Djokovic demonstrates that he is still able to win a Grand Slam title after a “blank” year 2024. The presence of Andy Murray in his box apparently increases his motivation tenfold.
