“We left Montreal, it cost us $700 for tickets and it only served to fill someone’s pockets. We managed to get a photo of pain and misery, but the lady next to me had paid more than $1,000 and her children couldn’t see it,” he told Journal Steve Moisan, who was present with his son.

The co-owner of the Kimono Sushi Bar in Charlesbourg, where the event was held, also had quite a surprise, both regarding the athlete’s arrival time and the clientele, which must have consisted mainly of people from business.

“Ronaldinho arrived a good 30 minutes early. People then started to enter about twenty minutes later and there were a lot of families and children, not at all the clientele that I had been told,” indicates Frédéric Petit.

He explains that the ex-soccer player stayed for about twenty minutes before disappearing. People therefore began to get impatient and insult its staff, who had nothing to do with the organization, before learning that the former glory of soccer would not return.

“I’ll get over it, but it was ordinary to see the room full of disappointed children and frustrated parents for having taken part of their savings to make a dream come true for their young person only for it to end like that », laments the one who says he still has headaches after losing nearly $5,000.

Total loss of control

The latter also believes that the Performance Group probably organized an event too big for its capacity, but the organizers deny this.

Steve Moisan also says that the restaurant was already packed when he arrived at 9 p.m., as agreed, and that he and his son did not have to present their ticket.

“We could have arrived like that, without a ticket, and managed to get in. We paid, we went just to get a photo, and there wasn’t even a signing period or prize drawing as planned,” he laments.

“It seems to me that when you sell tickets of this price, you have a list of people you are expecting and you identify them. It was the free for all», adds Mr. Petit.

Refund requested

Still bitter about his trip to the Old Capital, Steve Moisan now hopes that he can be reimbursed since he feels like he was scammed.

“I have already spoken with a few people who were also present and who are demanding to be reimbursed too. They did not respect the contract, so it is certain that I will not give up.
