PSG and Mbappé, the bill rises to 98 million euros

The dispute between Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé has just experienced a new episode. But PSG is once again gaining time in relation to a final sporting decision.

Since his departure from the capital club, Kylian Mbappé has demanded 55 million euros from his former employer for salaries and bonuses that PSG stubbornly refuses to pay him. While the Real Madrid player has always taken the lead in this matter, hoping to get the authorities to force Paris to pay him this colossal sum, the French champions have this time taken an initiative. The Team reveals that Nasser Al-Khelaifi transmitted to the Instance of UEFA Club Financial Control the elements of this file. And we thus learned that in addition to 55 million euros possibly owed to Kylian Mbappé, PSG will have social charges to pay, and that the total bill will rise to 98 million euros. However, as Etienne Moatti points out, Paris Saint-Germain can calmly see things in what the club has declared to be a “open dispute”.

PSG gains time with Kylian Mbappé

By thus warning the ICFC, PSG avoids making a mistake, since UEFA requires that clubs be up to date with the payment of salaries, but the fact that the matter is in dispute allows Paris not to be sanctioned sportingly, and therefore possibly deprived of European cups. Indeed, Paris Saint-Germain argues that this file is the subject of an appeal, and that it is the Paris judicial court which will have to say whether the Professional League was right to ask PSG to pay the 55 million euros to Kylian Mbappé. This matter is not an absolute priority for the Paris TJ, so there is still time for Paris, even if this will not calm the ardor of the Real Madrid striker, determined to obtain every last cent of his contract now ended with Paris Saint-Germain.
