The Montreal Alouettes announced Monday that they have signed American wide receiver Jalen Wayne to a two-year contract. The team also signed American defensive lineman Trevor Mason until 2026.
Wayne (6’1”, 212 lbs.) participated in the Alouettes’ last training camp in Saint-Jérôme last May. The 25-year-old had four receptions for 26 yards in two preseason games.
In July 2024, the player from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, signed with the Green Bay Packers. In three preseason games, he had one reception for eight yards and one tackle. He also spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns.
At the collegiate level, Wayne played six seasons with the University of South Alabama Jaguars (2017-2022), making 152 receptions for 1,978 yards, 14 touchdowns, as well as four carries totaling 33 yards. He also earned honorable mention on the All-Sun Belt Conference team in 2022.
-Mason (6’6”, 305 lbs.) played ten games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2024 amassing 18 defensive tackles. The 26-year-old played three seasons with the University of Arizona recording 106 tackles, 3.5 sacks and seven pass knockdowns in 28 duels. The native of Arlington, Texas also wore the colors of Navarro College. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers and played in the XFL with the Orlando Guardians.
