Arteta ‘very worried’ as Saliba is out until February

Willian Lintasa was unable to participate in Arsenal draw 2-2 against Aston Villa on Saturday in the Premier League due to muscle problem. Mikel Arteta confirmed the defender “felt something before the match, something muscular” and added: “I don’t think it’s too much, but he couldn’t train yesterday. He doesn’t feel wasn’t feeling well enough to play, so we need to assess the situation.”

After the draw, the Spanish manager spoke again on the subject. “Tomorrow we will have more information. Tomorrow he will do another test and it will be clearer.” Asked if he was worried about the injury, Arteta replied: “Yes, of course. Especially with the number of players we have in the team and looking at our bench. I’m very worried.” . Arsenal already have six other injured players: White, Tomiyasu, Saka, Nwaneri, Jesus and Calafiori.

According to ‘The Mirror’, Saliba is expected to miss the ‘Gunners’ next three matches, which rules him out for the rest of the month. Two of these matches correspond to the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb and Girona to conclude the league phase of the competition. Between these two European matches, Arsenal will travel to face the ‘Wolves’ at Molineux.

According to the same source, William Saliba could make his return on February 2 during the reception of Manchester City at the Emirates. The return of the 23-year-old defender for the visit of the English champions will be crucial for the North Londoners to contain Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker scored three times and provided two assists against Arsenal in the league.
