During the 4-1 victory over Las Palmas at the Bernabéu, defender David Alaba made his comeback, 399 days after his knee injury.
It’s a moment that the Austrian has certainly been waiting for for a long time. In the 75th minute of the match against Las Palmas, Alaba came on to replace Antonio Rüdiger to the ovations of the public.
It had been more than a year since the defender last played, which is why his entry was celebrated by everyone, from the staff to the supporters and his teammates. And if the sensations are conclusive during his next appearances, there is no doubt that he will quickly find his place in the central hinge.
After the match, the defender posted a message on his social networks to thank everyone for the welcome he received for his comeback.
-“What do you struggle for at the end of the day? What do you overcome each day? How can you always see the bright side of things, even in the darkness? I know that and I always knew that in the last few days , of the last few weeks and months. All thanks to today. I can’t tell you how much I missed going to the field, especially. at home, helping my teammates and celebrating with our fans afterwards.”
“After more than a year, I can once again do what I love most. It’s been a long road, but every day of hard work has been worth it! Thank you to my family, my friends, to my team, my club and our supporters for being by my side during this time and thank you to God for giving me faith and strength. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s thanks. to you that I am here today. back with the ball! And now, back to business! We have a lot of things ahead of us!” Alaba wrote.
