The flames ravaged a home located near Metz and caused one victim. This tragic incident occurred on the night of Saturday January 18 to Sunday January 19.
And fire declared himself in a residential house in Amanvillers, in Moselle. The flames took the life of a 7-year-old child.
A disaster of rare violence
Four occupants of the residence escaped the accident, unfortunately a 7-year-old child did not survive.
L’fire, described as “ violent » upon reporting, took into a home occupied by two adults and three children. The fire quickly spread across the scene, preventing one of the people from escaping. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the little one was found lifeless. The other residents were able to be evacuated before the firefighters arrived.
-Exceptional mobilization of firefighters
To control the flames, around 50 firefighters were called upon, accompanied by around twenty specialized vehicles: pump machines, aerial ladder, medical team, and rescue-clearance unit. The intervention made it possible to extinguish the fire on Sunday morning, although residual outbreaks still remained during the clearance.
An ongoing investigation to establish the causes
The national gendarmerie was tasked with investigating the origin of the disaster. According to the Metz public prosecutor, all avenues will be explored to understand this tragedy.
