SL 16 shared (2-2) against Binche. A certain Nacer Chadli was there.

We told you about it yesterday, the SL 16 missed out on the golden watch against Binche, a direct competitor for remaining in D1 ACFF. The young Liégeois led 2-0 after less than a quarter of an hour. The break goal was scored by Rabby Mateta on an assist from Birth Chadli.

The former Red Devil, who trained with the group in the first part of the season, confirmed his return at the start of the year. Yesterday, he started his first official match since March 1, 2024 (his only start last year).

A sharing with a bitter taste

But what followed was more frustrating: SL 16 wasted this two-goal advantage in the second half against Binchois who returned to the field with completely different intentions.

Lacking rhythm, Chadli appeared very disappointed at the final whistle: “There is a lot of frustration on our side. But the team is made up of a lot of young people. They make mistakes and that’s part of learning ” he explains to the newspaper Le Soir.

The 35-year-old from Liége wants to gain momentum in the coming weeks to help the team progress: “We have to learn lessons from this. It would not be acceptable to make mistakes like this for a club like Standard.” For his next match, the SL 16 will go to UR Namur.
