(Montreal) Goaltender Carey Price and defenseman Shea Weber are the headliners of the Montreal Canadiens’ first all-star team of the quarter century, unveiled Sunday by the National Hockey League (NHL).

Forwards Saku Koivu, Alex Kovalev and Tomas Plekanec, as well as defender Andrei Markov, complete the first all-star team of the last 25 years with the Habs.
Current captain Nick Suzuki is the center of the second all-star team, flanked by Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty. Sheldon Souray and PK Subban are the guards, while José Théodore is the goalie.
Price won the Hart, Vezina and Ted Lindsay Trophies at the end of the 2015-2016 season. He won 361 of his 712 season games with the Habs.
Weber, who played in 275 games with the Canadiens, is the only Hall of Famer among the 12 players selected.
-Plekanec has been the team’s leading scorer since the turn of the century with 606 points in 984 games.
Members of the media, former NHL players and members of the teams’ hockey departments contributed to the selection of these teams.
