Victory and a star for Roman Josi, two-time passer in the NHL

Nashville seems to be regaining color. The Predators scored a third straight victory in the NHL on Saturday night. Three days after Las Vegas, 4th best record in the league, they took the scalp of another big name: Minnesota, swept aside 6-2. A success to which Roman Josi is no stranger.

The 34-year-old Bernese defender delivered two assists. The first in a phase of power play at the end of the first third, concluded by a goal from Filip Forsberg which allowed Nashville to take the advantage at 2-1 after having conceded the opening score in the 6th minute . Then he was credited with another assist on the 3-1, signed by Steven Stamkos.

Awarded the second star of the match, Josi was decisive for the fifth consecutive outing and has a personal record of 32 points (8 goals, 24 assists) in 41 games this season.

On Saturday, however, he had the spotlight stolen by his teammate Filip Forsberg, author of a double sprinkled with two offerings. In their wake, the Predators begin a slight rise in the standings. With 16 wins for 29 losses, they find themselves 14th in the Eastern Conference.

Another Swiss also blackened the statistics sheet in the person of Kevin Fiala. A decisive passer during the 22 minutes he spent on the ice, the 28-year-old St. Gallen winger was unable to avoid Los Angeles’ defeat in Seattle (4-2).

The other white cross representatives remained discreet. Notably the New Jersey trio composed of Valaian center Nico Hischier (26 years old), Appenzell winger Timo Meier (28 years old) and Zurich defender Jonas Siegenthaler (27 years old). Despite a respective playing time of 19, 17 and 18 minutes, none had an impact during the Philadelphia reception and the Devils lost 1-3. Their third loss in a row.

End of series, on the other hand, for Winnipeg. Victorious in their last three matches, Nino Niederreiter (32) and his partners were held back by Calgary (1-3). Aligned for almost 19 minutes, the Grisons winger did not weigh down. Like Vancouver’s Zurich striker, Pius Suter (28), remained on the ice for 18’44” against Edmonton. The difference is that the latter tasted the joys of victory (3-2).

Finally, Chicago won against Las Vegas (5-3) without its Grison striker Philipp Kurashev, left out. The latter only took part in one game in January. It was a week ago, against Detroit.
