Rufisque’s AJEL team won a valuable victory against Dakar Sacré-Cœur (DSC) with a score of 2-1, during the opening match of the 12th day of the Ligue 1 championship. This meeting took place on Saturday at the Ngalandou Diouf stadium in Rufisque.
The Rufisque players, already victorious against the same opponents a few days earlier in the Senegal Cup, confirmed their superiority. The scorers of this meeting for AJEL were Massaer Dieng, who opened the scoring in the 14th minute, followed by Ousseynou F Seck in the 79th minute. Mame Sy reduced the score for DSC in the 89th minute.
Thanks to this second consecutive victory, AJEL now reaches sixth place in the general ranking with 16 points, thus becoming one of the teams in good form in the championship. On the other hand, for the DSC, this defeat marks a second consecutive setback, which plunges them into a zone of turbulence.
According to our colleagues from the Senegalese Press Agency (APS), the 12th day will also see the leader of the championship, US Gorée, traveling to Kébémer to face Linguère de Saint-Louis. The Saint-Louisiens are looking to bounce back after a recent change of coach and a disappointing elimination in the Senegal Cup by Damels.
-In this context, the meeting between Tengueth FC and Casa Sports in Ziguinchor also promises to be crucial. Tengueth FC must turn things around after amicably parting ways with their coach Sidath Sarr. Opposite, Casa-Sports, which has just won a victory at home, hopes to consolidate its positive dynamic.
The rest of the program for this 12th day includes various matches such as USO against Pikine at the Ngor municipal stadium, and Casa Sports against Tengueth FC at the Aline Sitoe Diatta stadium, among others. Note, however, that the Guédiawaye FC-Jaraaf meeting has been postponed.
