He blows his nose and knocks his eye out of its socket: the strange injury of a Moldovan player

Ion Nicolaescu suffered a very strange injury on Thursday evening during a Dutch Cup match.

SC Heerenveen, active in the Eredivisie, the elite of Dutch football, has already been eliminated from the Dutch Cup. The club was surprised by Quick Boys fans on Thursday evening, ultimately losing 3-2 in the 1/8 finals. A defeat which also left physical traces, with the injury of Ion Nicolaescu.

The Moldovan striker had played well until then, with a goal scored in the 76th minute. But as the match neared its end, the latter suffered a surprising injury. Already weakened by contact earlier, his eye came out of its socket while he was blowing his nose on the lawn.

The eye, in a surprising position, required treatment and the player was finally taken off the field. The Dutch press is talking about wearing a face mask in the coming weeks, although the precise extent of the damage has not yet been communicated. The images are impressive.
