A unique opportunity: Anderlecht could strike very hard and offer themselves a talent from Chelsea… for free! – Latest transfers

Defense was the priority, but it’s possible that Anderlecht could still pull a rabbit out of their hat offensively. If the lanes are already targeted, a more central player is also sought. He could come… from Chelsea.

Olivier Renard and the management of Sporting Anderlecht have made the defensive compartment a priority in this winter transfer window. Adryelson has already come in to replace Zanka, while another centre-back is being sought.

Offensively, it was the corridors that were targeted as a priority. Mauves’ first recruit this winter, César Huerta came from PUMAS for two million euros. However, the RSCA would still need a more central offensive player.

A unique opportunity presents itself

This one could be called Harvey Vale, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder who was already on the Mauves’ radar some time ago. But his situation has now changed. Given that he is still yet to make his first-team debut and is keen to get more playing time at the highest level, Chelsea and his entourage have reached an agreement.

Vale is allowed to leave London for free so he can force a transfer this winter, but the Londoners want to include a higher resale percentage in the deal. The English international hopeful is technically gifted, fast and has a good shot. If he is not currently a priority for Anderlecht, the reflection is underway.

Stroeykens needs reinforcement

Indeed, Anderlecht already counts on Mario Stroeykens in this position and Thorgan Hazard can also play there, but questions are increasingly being asked about when the latter will return to his best level. “He must regain confidence and also confidence in his knee,” David Hubert said at a press conference this week. “There’s a difference between being fit and being ready for a match.”

Last month, Anderlecht saw what can happen when Stroeykens is away. There is no longer a direct link with Dolberg, who has only scored once since Stroeykens’ injury in early December against Beerschot. It was against Sint-Truiden.

An additional option would therefore not be superfluous, especially since Yari Verschaeren is barely used by David Hubert and gradually seems ready to leave Anderlecht. Championship and Eredivisie teams are also interested in Vale, but Anderlecht could have arguments to convince him.
