St. Petersburg SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg gave Ivan Demidov more playing time than he’s ever seen, and the Montreal Canadiens prospect proved him right.
For the very first time in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), the 19-year-old forward spent more than 20 minutes on the ice. He played for 22:04, scoring three points in a 7-4 loss to Severstal Cherepovets.

Demidov tied the game 1-1 in the first period by beating the opposing goalkeeper with a nice feint. He subsequently collected two assists on goals from Sergei Plotnikov and Valentin Zykov. See his goal in the main video!
-The fifth player selected in the 2024 draft has amassed 35 points in 44 games this season. Demidov is just seven points away from Kirill Kaprizov’s record (42) for the most productive season by a player under 20 in the KHL.
There are 23 games left in the SKA regular campaign. Their next duel is scheduled for next Tuesday, against Yaroslav’s Lokomotiv.
