Xavi to take charge of the Red Devils? Contacts have been made! – All football

Who will be on the bench of the Red Devils for the next meetings in March? The suspense remains, but Domenico Tedesco’s chances are only dwindling.

The fate of Domenico Tedesco has not yet been officially decided as the names of his potential successors have been filtering for several weeks, according to leaks from the negotiations. Again this morning, we were talking to you about the avenues leading to Thierry Henry, but also to another French coach, discussed internally within the federation.

Our decision-makers are looking at the successor to Domenico Tedesco for some time now. Several profiles, once discussed, now seem to be ruled out, such as those of the Dutch Erik ten Hag and Mark van Bommel.

Xavi option also impossible

SudInfo reports that the Belgian Union also tried for Xavi. The former Barca glory has been free since last summer and the end of his adventure as coach of the Blaugrana. Despite a title and a Spanish Super Cup, his time on the Catalan bench did not live up to his playing career.

Vincent Mannert however, contacted him to offer him the opportunity to succeed Domenico Tedesco. But the 44-year-old coach would not like to take over a selection for the moment and therefore politely declined.

Like what was attempted with Sergio Conceicao, seeing Xavi land on the Devils bench would have been an exciting prospect, without this necessarily guaranteeing the expected recovery. The federation can in any case continue to prospect.
