TFC: “I would have preferred that he stayed…” goalkeeper Alex Dominguez leaves the club

The Spanish goalkeeper was frustrated. He didn’t play enough for his liking and will try to get playing time elsewhere. As confirmed on Wednesday January 15 by Carles Martinez Novell, at the end of the meeting between TFC and Laval (2-1), Guillaume Restes’ understudy in the Toulouse goals is on the start.

Not selected in the group for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, Alex Dominguez is preparing to leave TFC to be loaned for the next six months. Information confirmed by the Toulouse coach after the match: “I don’t really know where the negotiations are at but he is very close to leaving the club. He prefers to leave to have more opportunities to play…”

The Violets coach was still disappointed by the choice of the player who shares the same nationality as him. “Honestly I would have preferred him to stay, he would have helped us, starting with today (Wednesday). Aged 26, Alex Dominguez arrived in Toulouse in the summer of 2023 from Las Palmas. He will have played four matches with the Violets, three of which without conceding a single goal. He also stood out in set-pieces by saving two penalties (in Rouen last year) or shots on goal against Hauts-Lyonnais this season.
