Victim of a burglary, this star Penguins player loses his three Stanley Cup rings

The home of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was burglarized last Saturday in Pennsylvania. His three Stanley Cup rings were stolen.

The Russian and his teammates were facing the Ottawa Senators in Pittsburgh when the thieves infiltrated his residence around 4 p.m. A 911 call was made by an unidentified person hours later, CBS News reported.

The rear door was broken down and the alarm system and surveillance cameras were not functional, several sources told the American media. His safe was also open.

All of her rings were no longer there. The 38-year-old won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009, 2016 and 2017.

Allegheny County Police confirmed to CBS News that a burglary investigation is underway. No people have been arrested at the time of writing.

Malkin is unfortunately not the only professional athlete to be targeted by these crimes in the United States. In 2024, Dallas Stars player Tyler Seguin was also the victim of theft. Kansas City Chiefs football players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were also affected by burglaries at their respective homes.
