Arsenal studies two fine scorers after Gabriel Jesus’ withdrawal

Gabriel Jesus injured his cruciate ligaments and is out for a long time. A situation which forces Arsenal to study two serious options.

Arsenal is in a dramatic situation to say the least. After Bukayo Saka’s painful injury, Gabriel Jesus just made things worse. Affected in the left knee last weekend, the Brazilian will miss a large part of the season. This forces the Gunners to move on the transfer market this winter.

Arsenal’s two serious options

This injury to Garbriel Jesus disrupts the Gunners’ plans. Arsenal were counting on the Brazilian to hold the attack. But, with its unavailability, the club would now consider entering the transfer window. The coach, Mikel Arteta, reportedly has two options in mind.

Arsenal made Benjamin Sesko a priority. But, as things currently stand, RB Leipzig striker moves from status to urgent target. However, the Slovenian will be difficult to snatch. With 7 goals and 2 assists this season in the Bundesliga, the 21-year-old striker is valued at 50 million euros.

Arteta’s second option remains Dušan Vlahović. The 24-year-old Serbian striker is also with 7 goals and an assist this season in Serie A with Juventus. The latter costs more (60 million euros). However, it could be the best leadbeing on the market with a contract expiring in June 2026.

Arsenal could alleviate their difficulties if they can sign one of these two attackers this winter. Londoners are in a very difficult situation. Gabriel Jesus is not the only one Arsenal injury case. There is also Saka and Ethan Nwaneri which are also absent in north London due to injuries.

Who among Sesko and Vlahovic suits Arsenal?

  • Dusan Vlahovic
