Red Devils: After the Thierry Henry rumor, another French coach would be in Vincent Mannaert’s shortlist

If Vincent Mannaert keeps his word, we should know the identity of Domenico Tedesco’s successor within a fortnight. According to HLN and Sudinfo, five candidates are part of the Federation’s shortlist, including at least two French: Thierry Henry, who nevertheless denied the information to Jérôme Rothen on RMC, and Rudi Garcia.

The latter, who has in the past coached major Ligue 1 teams such as Lille (where he coached a certain Eden Hazard), Lyon and Marseille, is known for his high-level experience and his outspokenness. Also passing through Naples and Al Nassr, he was fired from the Saudi club in August 2023, in particular because of his poor results but also his bad understanding with Cristiano Ronaldo.
