L’Arena Bercy prepares to welcome some of the biggest names in theathletics planetary.
Like every winter, the meeting indoor de Paris will take place there. The meeting is set for Sunday February 9 for a 2025 edition which promises to be exceptional. The French Athletics Federation revealed the identity of the first participants this Tuesday, January 14 and this list gives pride of place to French athletes.
The 60m hurdles will notably bring together Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, Just Kwaou-Mathey, Wilhem Belocian et Sasha Zhoya. This French quartet will struggle with Jason Josephthe Swiss European champion in the specialty in 2023.
The meeting indoor de Paris 2025 promises to be special for these four Blues.
It will have the feel of a farewell tour for Pascal Martinot-Lagarde. 2025 could be the last winter season for the 34-year-old hurdler whose exploits have been numerous. Double Olympic finalist in the 110m hurdles, bronze medalist at the 2023 World Championships, he is also a specialist in the 60m hurdles in which he was triple world vice-champion.
Wilhem Belocian will present himself in Paris as reigning French champion then Sasha Zhoya will return to the capital after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games where he was eliminated in the semi-finals. In search of redemption, the Perth native ended 2024 on a high note, a victory in the Diamond League final.
It will also be a return for Just Kwaou-Mathey after a 2024 season ended prematurely. Bronze medalist at the World Indoor Championships, he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon a hundred days before the Paris 2024 Olympics. This injury forced him to miss the entire season summer.
The 26-year-old hurdler will try to resume his march forward with this Paris 2025 indoor Meeting where we will also find Milan Trajkovic, Jamal Britt et Louis Rollins.
