At least 61 Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours in incessant Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to 46,645, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Tuesday.
A ministry statement added that some 110,012 other people were injured in the ongoing attacks.
“Israeli forces killed 61 people and injured 281 others in four massacres of families over the past 24 hours,” the ministry said.
“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, rescuers unable to reach them,” it added.
Despite UN Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its genocidal war against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
This second year of genocide in Gaza has drawn increasing condemnation from the international community, with officials and institutions calling the attacks and the blocking of aid delivery a deliberate attempt to annihilate a population.
In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity. in the Gaza Strip.
Israel is also being prosecuted before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for “the crime of genocide”, due to the war it is waging against the Gaza Strip.
