(San José) Forward Josef Martinez, CF Montreal’s top scorer in 2024, accepted a one-year contract with the San Jose Earthquakes on Monday.

Author of 11 goals last season, Martinez had free agent status.
San Jose holds an option for 2026.
A 31-year-old Venezuelan, Martinez was the top scorer in MLS in 2018, scoring 31 goals with Atlanta United.
He played with the Georgia club from 2017 to 2022, totaling 98 goals and 16 assists.
He added seven goals with Inter Miami in 2023, before playing a season with the Montreal team.

A five-foot-eight, 163-pound athlete, Martinez is the seventh all-time scorer in MLS, with 116 goals.
