rights: beIN Sports has finally found an agreement for its Ligue 1 poster

According to information from l’Equipe, beIN Sports and the LFP have reached an agreement concerning the Ligue 1 poster acquired by the broadcaster until 2029, for an amount of 98.5 million euros annually. This sum is distributed as follows: 78.5 million euros in rights + 20 million in sponsorship. According to the daily, the two parties have finally signed a contract that beIN refused to initial since the start of the season, regularly paying its bills late. The Franco-Qatarian channel should therefore quickly pay for those of January.

The reason for the disagreement? beIN considered itself wronged in the rights deal with DAZN, which broadcasts the other 8 matches of each day for 375 million per season, and in particular on the quality of the matches reserved for it. If beIN had to have one of the first two choices of meetings each day, it turned out, according to the channel, that the programming made by the LFP offered it the broadcast of a meeting which was not of that quality .

Furthermore, beIN obtained from the League the ability to co-broadcast its matches on other pay channels. It was thus decided that beIN Sports could simply do it with DAZN if it wished until the end of the season. From 2025-2026, if beIN Sports wants to co-broadcast its poster with someone other than DAZN, the channel will have to make a request to the LFP, which may or may not accept this request.
