Discover the ranking at the end of stage 8

On Monday, South African driver Lategan won the 8th stage of the Dakar 2025 among cars, despite a two-minute penalty for speeding. The leader is now 5’41 behind his runner-up Al-Rajhi, who opened the track on Monday, in the general classification. Between Al Duwadimi – Riyadh, he took another step towards the final victory. Giniel De Villiers, winner of the 2009 edition, retired. Nasser al-Attiyah, 4th in the general classification, is getting closer to the podium after gaining 6 minutes from Ekström, 3rd.

On motorcycles, Luciano Benavides concluded the stage as leader, 2’08 ahead of Frenchman Van Beveren. The Argentinian was credited for the time lost to help Quintanilla, the victim of a violent accident. Schareina finished six seconds behind Beveren.
