. After the lesson received in Villeneuve, the MBC is looking down!

Never since the start of the season has the MBC team produced such a sad copy! Deprived of its two interiors (B. Gomis and O. Gadji), Cédric Fau’s team missed almost everything on Saturday evening in Villeneuve-sur-Lot. The score from the first quarter gives the measure of the gap between a team that is determined, fast and plays collectively and a team that is stammering in its basketball. The Montalbanais’ first basket will be scored after 4’40 of play…If success is not there, and when the interior game is restricted, we can hope to rely on the defense. Unfortunately, here again, the visitors showed little, conceding 51 points in twenty minutes (break reached with a score of 51 to 24). The match was therefore already over at half-time and the Villeneuvois coach even allowed himself to rotate his squad so early in the match. Under the leadership of the Rodriguez-Cantero and A. Chevalier tandem (45 points between them), the score swelled to close to the 40 point mark. The few sporadic reactions of the Montalbanais only allowed them to compete during the last two periods of play (23-19 then 17-16 in the last quarter). But the damage was done, and the outcome of the game had long been in favor of the locals. Before receiving Tresses next week, winner on Saturday, to finish with the first leg, the players must review their copy. With the worst defense in the championship, they have the obligation to remobilize, and show another image to an audience waiting for a next victory.

And now. This next match, at 9 p.m., Saturday February 18 at the multisports hall, should be an opportunity for the MBC to reassure themselves for their future in this division.
