OM Mercato: big cold snap on the Zalewski track

Announced at OM in January, AS Roma’s versatile left-hander Nicola Zalewski could ultimately stay in Calcio.

In their desire to continue to strengthen the squad, Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia targeted Nicola Zalewski. This 27-year-old Italian-Polish is about to leave for AS Roma, where he plays. Left-handed, he can play both in midfield and in defense. The leaders of OM would see him as a competitor to Quentin Merlin, whom Roberto De Zerbi rarely makes go to the end of matches, replacing him with Ulisses Garcia. Listed at €10 million, Zalewski would have been recruited in the event that the leaders had made sales which made it possible to replenish the coffers. Except that by the time that happens, he should have changed teams…

Integrated into a deal with Inter Milan?

Indeed, La Gazzetta dello Sport assures that AS Roma should send Zalewski to Inter Milan to repatriate Davide Frattesi. The 25-year-old midfielder, native of the transalpine capital, trained with the Giallorossi, before exploding at Sassuolo. Roma would like to bring him back but cannot afford to pay the transfer fee in full. She would like to lower the score by including a player in the deal. Nicola Zalewski could be the one. After being a little reluctant at the start, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi would have given his agreement.

Olympique de Marseille could therefore be forced to look for a new track for their left side…
