Possible return of the Moroccan to Wydad Casablanca during this transfer window

Wydad Casablanca is turning to a former player to strengthen its defense during this winter transfer window.

Hamza Mendyl, the 27-year-old left back, currently under contract with OH Leuven until June 2025, could soon return to his training club.

Discussions are already underway between Wydad and the player, according to a well-informed source.

Although negotiations are still in their early stages, the leaders of the Reds seem determined to repatriate Mendyl, who has had several experiences in Europe, notably at LOSC Lille, Schalke 04, Dijon and Gaziantep FK.

This season, the player has played 14 matches in the Jupiler Pro League and Croky Cup, accumulating 673 minutes and one assist. This return could thus meet Wydad’s defensive needs for the rest of the season.
