The New England Patriots and Mike Vrabel have agreed to a multi-year contract for him to become the team’s next head coach, reports ESPN.
It’s a return home for the former linebacker, who played for the Patriots from 2001 to 2008, winning the Super Bowl three times.
After his playing career, which ended in 2010 with the Kansas City Chiefs, Vrabel coached on various teams. He notably led the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023.
Since his dismissal from the Titans, Vrabel has been a consultant with the Cleveland Browns.
-He becomes the seventh player in history to lead a club with which he won the Super Bowl as a player.
