“In skating culture, men make the decisions, women are there to follow and be beautiful alongside them” – Libération

The announcement was made in two stages, at the end of 2024. On December 3, Gabriella Papadakis first declared that she was ending her career as a high-level sportswoman at the age of 29. After more than a decade of winning everything with Guillaume Cizeron (a gold medal and a silver at the Olympic Games, five European titles and as many world titles), the Clermontoise and her lifelong partner announced an end to the competition – hard to find motivation when you have already won everything. Then, two weeks later, Gabriella Papadakis revealed her new project: that of forming a new “couple” with the American Madison Hubbell.

This unique duo – the couples are in figure skating always made up of a man and a woman – will perform at the beginning of February, during a short tour of Switzerland for the on Ice gala.
