Since January 3, the actors of the no-knock struggle have mobilized against the CNG (National Management Committee) following the controversial decision to generalize weighing during galas. A measure considered discriminatory by several wrestlers. The association of non-strike wrestlers, led by Thiaka Faye, has held numerous meetings with the CNG to obtain adjustments.
After a first unsuccessful meeting, a new meeting took place on Friday, bringing together Malick Ngom, president of the CNG, and several figures of the struggle such as Thiaka Faye, Saliou Diouf, Ablaye Diop, and Selle Mélé. According to the daily RecordMalick Ngom finally decided to respond favorably to the demands. From now on, weighing will no longer be systematic in the villages, and wrestlers weighing more than 96 kg will be able to choose their category (light or heavyweight).
However, this initiative does not concern Dakar, where weighing remains in force, particularly for galas organized by the CNG. At the end of this meeting, Thiaka Faye and her colleagues, satisfied with this progress, hope for a more open dialogue in the future for better management of their discipline.
